Horse Country

I had to laugh when I watched the movie “We bought a Zoo” – They move out to the zoo and the kids are talking about how they are 7 miles to Target – and they didn’t know how to handle it. I found this funny because when we moved to Weatherford, TX two years ago I was so excited because we were ONLY 7 miles to Target!

When we lived in Orka, TX (Eastland County) We would joke about the fact that we were 9 miles to milk before 6pm and 25 miles to milk after 6pm. We have always lived way out of town and have loved it. With the growth of Weatherford even in just the last 2 years, we are close to just about anything we need – but still have the country life we love.

I do at times miss being far out, we have lived 60 miles east of El Paso – now that is in the country. But Parker County is home and will be, we love it here. All the great horses and people of this area makes it a great place!

Where else can you live that has a cutting horse in front of McDonald’s and horse statues and cutting horse in front of the chamber of Commerce.
